Bialetti moka pot 🇮🇹 Italy

In 1933, Italian Alfonso Bialetti revolutionised home coffee brewing after watching his wife do laundry. Early washing machines used a tube to push boiling water upwards. He applied this pressure principle to force water up through coffee grounds.

Chocolate praline 🇧🇪 Belgium

In 1912, chocolatier Jean Neuhaus invented the Belgian praline by filling a hard chocolate shell with a soft cream or ganache. His family also designed the ballotin box, the iconic presentation packaging used to protect these delicate sweets.
